FREE 2-WEEK EMAIL COURSE

If your business closed tomorrow, what would still follow you home?

Most business owners know what they owe each month. Far fewer know what they have personally promised to pay if the business can’t.

This free two-week email course will help you find the personal guarantees and other commitments that may survive the business — and, more importantly, change what you do before the next signature.

The dangerous promises are often the ones you stopped thinking about

A personal guarantee may be sitting inside a lease, vehicle agreement, supplier account, credit facility, franchise document, credit card application or service contract.

The balance may even be zero today. That does not necessarily mean the guarantee has disappeared. Some guarantees continue, cover future advances, or extend to interest, penalties and collection costs.

Over two weeks, we’ll work out what could follow you home

  • Find the places where personal guarantees commonly hide
  • Separate ordinary business expenses from personal commitments
  • Calculate the original, outstanding and maximum possible exposure
  • Recognise wording such as “continuing guarantee” and “all monies”
  • Audit old guarantees that may be worth asking to limit, replace or release
  • Build a better set of questions before you sign the next one

Find the documents

Work out where guarantees and commitments may be hiding, even if you haven’t looked at them for years.

Measure the exposure

Put numbers beside the promises so you can see the risk instead of carrying a vague fear.

Change the next signature

The past may be difficult to unwind. The next guarantee is where you regain negotiating power.

Why I care about this

In the early 1990s my own business failed. I learned the hard way that a company can disappear while the promises signed by its owner keep walking.

Years later, the lesson is still the same: you cannot make a good decision about a guarantee you have forgotten, misunderstood or never properly measured.

This course is not about pretending old guarantees can magically be cancelled. It is about understanding the position you are already in — and becoming much harder to trap the next time a document lands in front of you.

This is for you if…

  • You have signed business documents over the years and no longer remember exactly what was guaranteed
  • You are being asked to sign another lease, facility, supplier account or finance agreement
  • Your business is stronger now and you want to reduce personal exposure where possible
  • You want to know what questions to ask before another guarantee becomes permanent
  • You would rather understand the risk while things are calm than discover it after a crisis

A few sensible questions

Is this legal advice?

No. The course helps you identify, organise and understand the commercial questions around personal guarantees. If a particular document or dispute needs legal interpretation, that is the point to involve an appropriately qualified lawyer.

What if I can’t find copies of the guarantees?

That is common. We’ll talk about where to look, what records to assemble, and how to start building a useful list from what you do know.

Can the course get me out of guarantees I already signed?

No promise like that would be responsible. Some guarantees can sometimes be reduced, replaced, released or allowed to end as circumstances change. The course helps you identify what is worth investigating.

Why focus so much on the next signature?

Because that is usually where you have the most control. The course uses your existing guarantees to understand your present exposure, then turns that knowledge into better questions and better decisions before you sign again.

What does it cost?

Nothing. It is a free two-week email course.

Spend the next two weeks finding out what you actually signed

One short email at a time. No panic. No legal theatre. Just a practical audit of the commitments that could outlive your business — and a better way to approach the next document.
